A few decades after the destruction of the Inca Empire, a Spanish expedition led by the infamous Aguirre leaves the mountains of Peru and goes down the Amazon River in search of the lost city of El Dorado. When great difficulties arise, Aguirre’s men start to wonder whether their quest will lead them to prosperity or certain death.

Basically "Aguirre: Wrath of God" is a documentary missing a few interviews here and there, but the great thing is we don't need interviews to see how the men are feeling, it's all described perfectly with Herzog's minimal script and direction, and of course the acting, which is great not because th....

Aguirre's influence over the small expedition only became possible bc he was able to convince the muscle of the group to back him through promises of riches, fame and power, through finding the City of Gold.

All in all, this movie was a pleasant surprise, and I think a true film buff should see it at least once..
