+ rep for all of these movies. They may not be the best of each year, but they're all good movies.
Alien and
Aliens fall a little bit too close to horror for my taste, but I can't deny how good they are anyway.
Alien Nation was a good movie, but I liked the series even more than the movie.
The Nutty Professor
Solaris
Scanners
The Nutty Professor is a sci-fi movie? I don't like Jerry Lewis, so I've never seen a lot of his movies, including this one. He's very annoying in most movies that I've seen him in, especially the ones with Dean Martin. (I love Dean Martin, so I've seen a few of the Martin and Lewis movies.)
I like the remake of
Solaris with George Clooney, but I haven't seen the whole movie of the 1972 original version. I've only seen bits and pieces of it.
I've never seen
Scanners, but many years ago at a sci-fi convention, they showed still pics from movies, and the audience had to guess what movie the pics were from. They showed one pic that looked like a guy's head exploding, and most people yelled out
Scanners, but the pic turned out to be from
Raiders of the Lost Ark, when the ark is opened.
