I hate the mother in La pianiste(The Piano Teacher)

Hi all,
I am a student learn second language in a Chinese school in shanghai and last night i sew one movie called the piano teacher. I am really hate the mother in this movie and i am confused about the teacher-why do you escape from your sick mother?

Many sympathy to this woman and really sick to her mother.
