300 vs Mad Max: Fury Road

Currently rewatching Fury Road, and may watch 300 again after to give my opinion of which flick is the manliest movie ever made. In the history of the world!

Re: 300 vs Mad Max: Fury Road

I think 300 would win because there are 300 of them and only one Mad Max.

Okay but he's Mad, and judging by the name of his movie, he must have infrastructure.

Re: 300 vs Mad Max: Fury Road

The difficulty is that neither of those movies are Commando or Predator.

Mad Max: Fury Road by a long shot. Not sure there's much competition.

300. It may be macho to the absolute extreme and the one prominent female character is poorly written (Though Lena Headey still does the best she can), but it certainly delivers in terms of entertainment value. Never been a Mad Max: Fury Road fan and that isn't changing any time soon. I didn't even bother with Furiosa.

Well he'll take a few with him since he knows his stuff. It'd be hard for him to win the whole fight.

Can I get a Drunken Master or Enter the Dragon?

John-Connor 01-02-25 04:23 PM

RE: every VS mentioned so far..

Enter the Dragon
Predator
Mad Max: Fury Road

The Great Escape is the ultimate "man movie."

End of discussion. Close thread.

TONGO 01-02-25 04:35 PM

Enter the Dragon wasnt even the best martial arts movie. That would be Fist of Legend thankyouverymuch!

Predator has promise. There wasnt a clean vein anywhwre in that movie, steroids aplenty, but their tech was too slick. It lacked the barborous qualities of 300 & Fury Road.

Those army guys sure could fight. Could they take out a Predator? Do they need a Commando? Is Project A the East equivalent of "man movie"?

“The Great Escape is the ultimate ‘man movie.’”

I say it’s the original Conan the Barbarian.

Huh? He started in comics in the 1930s.

All those greased up abs in 300 give very homoerotic vibes. Not to mention Xerxes. So not exactly stereotypically masculine. On the other hand, Furiosa has a larger role than Max or any man in Fury Road so

Fury Road is definitely the better movie though.

So women were "itchy" the whole time?

Horseshoe theory

“Huh? He started in comics in the 1930s.”

I was talking about the original Conan the Barbarian movie that John Milius made in 1982, as opposed to the remake. (At least I think there was a remake.)

Great list! What would you say are the 10 most manly movies you’ve ever seen? Here’s my list:
1.Conan the Barbarian (1982)
2.Gladiator
3.300
4.Braveheart
5.Unforgiven
6.Scarface (1983)
7.Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior
8.Saving Private Ryan
9.Heat
10.First Blood
