Jeff's favorite music

My aim is to put together a wonderfully persuasive, and unexpectedly all-inclusive mix that totally makes sense, but shouldn't, if anything was just slightly different. Each post in this thread will contain enough music that would be the running time of a feature length film. https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL...4AgZLJPlF1Hpnn 1 --- Richard Tauber - Freunde, das Leben ist lebenswert aus Giuditta (Lehàr) how Berlin Alexanderplatz begins https://youtu.be/QxPda8_vlSE?si=6X-0vSaPMTLApf-a 2 --- Björk Mother Heroic my muse, special stuff here, i think it comes from her collaboration with John Tavener https://youtu.be/Mp3S4Vod0yw?si=J0elmGa48ctBSZwP 3 --- Moon River - La Mala Educación Haunting rendtion from one of Almodovar's better films https://youtu.be/7U8rbTFSv1s?si=ZNzNml0sqRmc36yJ 4 --- Musica Poetica I: Gassenhauer I adore how this sounds, and i thank the movie Badlands for it https://youtu.be/J-3jI3m6T8A?si=fiOywAWAYgHdDI8Y 5 --- June Christy - Bewitched I heard this in a Godard, and it's needed at this point https://youtu.be/gXRgSo7WfWM?si=jGvP207NJZHw_f2Q 6 --- Soul Bossa Nova one of the grooviest things i've heard https://youtu.be/y-ndMMYhmi0?si=nOgDinwdJ8IraEZv 7 --- Parliament - Give Up The Funk (Tear The Roof Off The Sucker) From groove to a funk standard https://youtu.be/gBWH3OWfT2Y?si=b4f_Ak-Y4bL16qGQ 8 --- John Cooper Clarke - Evidently Chickentown this is a weird little dittie i found long ago https://youtu.be/3KgB-sI2H-c?si=faKwLqJvnOcJcfR8 9 --- Greta Van Fleet - Heat Above a GREAT power ballad https://youtu.be/dRHs8a-ISXA?si=98O_dzwa9LN88xdr 10 --- Tom Waits - "God's Away On Business" an edgy Tom hit https://youtu.be/W9mhsW5aWJM?si=YV1Dfz-60sybQfrb 11 --- Skinny Puppy-Chainsaw love me some classic industrial sometimes https://youtu.be/31S7weQH8JA?si=UTZbHHMO1A8BZD0r 12 --- Joséphine Baker "La Petite Tonkinoise" "Pretty Little Tonkin Girl" Il m'appelle sa p'tite bourgeoise My favorite moment in Forbidden Zone when Frenchie sings this https://youtu.be/tauFAfQ9Aa8?si=dHrCrCd-DIVIQXR0 13 --- Chantal Goya-Tu M'as Trop Menti then we remember a classic 60's French pop hit https://youtu.be/YZfI2A601i8?si=tc7RcaHsBKbwIdh0 14 --- Santo & Johnny - Sleep Walk Overture to the next string of doo-wop hits that are featured in a Kenneth Anger film -- Rabbit's Moon https://youtu.be/t4qqwNmLc4U?si=a98T7tcwP39WFlLO 15 --- The Capris -There's A Moon Out Tonight https://youtu.be/P4xNF9uh8SA?si=77z9Fn2TY372qD_i 16 --- Mary Wells - Bye Bye Baby https://youtu.be/WbrBUFpFGr4?si=zJcsJV1mCWQO-k7M 17 --- The Flamingos - I Only Have Eyes For You https://youtu.be/FvzNeh4Mq1o?si=u9DpHVoYGlvo1gQ_ 18 --- The El Dorados - Tears on My Pillow https://youtu.be/WMZh2PrBBrI?si=yHyoGSdFb3w_spLx 19 --- Robert Schumann. All sorts of great stuff in here. The more eclectic and wide ranging, the better, I say.
