Did they have any good movies?

ha, I don't watch television. I don't have any TV service. But I do have a TV.

basically dosent have a lot of depth movie wise but more often they have more interesting/obscure movies in comparison to Netflix

I have Netflix but not the streaming, I have the DVD which is called Netflix DVD.com or something like that. It seems that every month they have less and less of the classic movies that I love. I'm not sure why I bother with them?

Same with the streaming system. I remember when they had way more classic movies but I guess nobody was watching them?

I wasn't I did have free streaming from Netflix for a long time, and I only tried one movie. My internet is to slow I guess, for it to stream good.

well your gonna have alot of problems internet wise if you use hulu. It is way more intensive then netflix in my experience

I started Say Anything...

Ione Skye is so adorable. I love her lisp, or cleft palate. The guy who plays the father..I should know his name because I enjoy everything he's in when his scenes are on..most recently Moonstruck, I love his role. He was in Tin Men and many, many others I've seen. He's like a sure bet when he's on-screen.

This is a different kind of teen comedy. Compared to a lot of teen comedies it comes off more realistic. Love it when Dobbler smells the plastic brain in Diane's bedroom. Something I would do, hahaha. The sub plot with bitter ex GF and "Joe". Forgot about that. Probably gonna finish it tonight since I slept all day (very uncommon for me).

Thoughts on Say Anything

My favorite line “she makes me trust myself”

Cusack is a solid kickboxer

A few effectively emotional moments

This is my third tome seeing it. Always liked it

Soundtrack is the weakest part of the film

On to commentary by cameron crowe to hopefully knock me out for more sleep

You can't make a rainbow without a little rain.
I think @gbgoodies just saying that both nominations have people that don't look like teenagers but people are complaining about Stand By Me and not Grease 2.

Yes, that's what I was trying to say.

It's not a complaint about either movie being nominated in this HoF. It was just a curiosity about why some people were upset about the kids being too young to be teenagers in one movie, but not about the actors being too old to be teenagers in another movie.

It's very rare they ever have teenagers playing actual teenagers. One of the closest casts I think was American Pie, all of the main boys cast were all about 17-19 playing 18 year olds.

Also read that infamously Christopher Mintz-Plasse was only 17 when he filmed Superbad, so his mum had to be on set for his sex scene...I can't think of anything more embarrassing to be honest!

So I've just had a check of all my sources, and the only ones Im struggling to find are Once Bitten, My Bodyguard, Grease 2 and Three o'Clock High. Will just try and sork through the others while I keep looking. At least got plenty others to work through until then. If anyone knows an online source for any of these or streaming service, it's a big help. (I'm in the UK) For anyone else in the UK, if you have Amazon Prime, you can get a 7 day free trial of the MGM channel which has Teen Wolf.

Can't Buy Me Love (1987)

Dir. Steve Rash

Roland Miller is part of the nerd circle at his highschool at Arizona but has a crush on popular cheerleader, Cindy. Rather than spedning his hard earned money on the telescope, he 'rents' her to pretend to be her boyfriend and become more popular.

This film sure has its cringe moments, but there were also a number of genuinely heartfelt instances too. I also found myself enjoying how both Rolands and Cindy's characters in particular developed over the course of the narrative. Good stuff!

Women will be your undoing, Pépé
Cricket said he's real busy, so he's not going to do this Hof. So his movie Heaven Help Us (1985) is out and you don't have to watch it.
That is sad to hear, Heaven Help Us was one of many I was truly looking forward to. I may watch it as a tribute. We'll see if I time it out, right, to do just that.

Keep getting more and more intrigued by this film.
And I think you're referring to:
John Mahoney.
Loved him in Moonstruck and in the TV comedy series Fraser.

I do have Akira from the library so will be checking that out this week.

That's a shame, but at least he let us know early. I already dug out the Heaven Help Us DVD, so I might watch it anyway if I can find the time.
