The 6th Sense

Fearless

To Live and Die in L.A.

Watchmen

Believe it or not, I was just thinking about how good Fearless was, two hours ago.

When I was a kid this ending was somehow profound. I loved that character

Not as much anymore

It's retroactively profound that they let any Joker die, and stay dead.

It's the only one I can think of. Even Mark Hamill's comes back in Batman's hallucinations.

Brief Encounter
Roman Holiday (such a ballsy ending for the a 1950s romcom)
The Incredible Shrinking Man (it elevates the film's A grade to A+)
The Swimmer
Death In Venice
The Baby (talk about plot twists)
The Wicker Man
Saturday Night Fever
Local Hero (it's got that "meta" effect of wanting to watch the film all over again)
Angel Heart
Fire Walk With Me
Carol

I would have included The Lighthouse if it had ended in the lighthouse itself.

Best ending TV series: The Americans

been talking about it in another thread but yeah I Saw the TV Glow might be it. that shit gonna change people's lives.

Which thread? The search engine is hmm.. Not good.

I Saw the TV Glow is a pretty idiosyncratic film, not gonna be everyone's cup of tea, but some folks really seem to enjoy it a lot. It is definitely very "out there", imho.

I was blown away by the sudden and unexpected ending of Five Easy Pieces.

someone brought it up in the a scary thing happened on the way to the movie forums thread or whatever it's called.

Ah the 421 page thread with 8409 posts. Just my luck

should be just the last page or two, should have specified it was like currently being discussed lol

Cool. Thanks

i'm very much in the "intended audience" for that film so the themes and whatnot were pretty much guaranteed to resonate with me. if not for that it would be like a 6/10 tbh.
