3. M3GAN (2022-2023) (Sci-Fi)
I like how M3GAN evolves and all the surrounding circumstances of her evolution. It's really easy going and re-watchable flick. Screenplay has smart sense of humor.

2. The Banshees of Inisherin (2022) (Comedy)
Story about two Irishmen. Padraic (by Colin Farrell) wants to remain friends whilst Colm (by Brendan Gleeson) no longer wants anything to do with former life long friend. The movie explores theme of loss of relationships either due to worldly reasons or death. It is a dark comedy.

5. The Last Duel (2021) (Drama)
The central theme of The Last Duel is rape. The movie takes place during late middle ages and consists of three chapters of truths according to Jean de Carrouges (by Matt Damon), Jacques Le Gris (by Adam Driver) and Marguerite de Carrouges (by Jodie Comer). All three actors do exellent job in their roles. It takes time to get going. Basically first chapter is a bit dragging, but when second chapter starts and discrepancies between views manifest thus giving new meaning to the first chapter at the same time, the movie draws viewers in. At the end we get the titular duel.

It is one of the best movies by director Ridley Scott.

All three views were slightly different, but at the same time plausible with slightly different emphasis. The structure of the movie and great screenplay allows us to see not just what happened, but more interestingly how each main character sees the world individually and how they see themselves as being righteous and having injustice bestowed upon them.
Rashomon meets The Dualists.
I like it.
Will stick on my watch list.

I could do without Barbie but I'm interested in exploring some of these, especially Sissy and Palm Springs... and hey, it's nice to see another Strange Darling fan around here

Had to give Tugg a like for that sharp retort which gave me a chuckle!

Great to see you back though Mr M. Am sure you've been missed by people on here.

Am currently enjoying Hakai (The Outcast) 1962.

I'm sure your Top 20 would be so obscure that no one would have seen it.
Not if they're normies who only ever watch mainstream English-language films.

A system of cells interlinked
Strange Darling would most certainly make my Top 10 of 2024, but I am not sure where. I will work out a list and post it at some point.

Anyway - great list! Thanks for posting.
