I'm usually a massive fan of Guillermo del Toro and his films and he has directed this one, but I'm very disappointed with the trailer, looks nothing special at all. I'm hoping it's a case of bad trailer for what turns out to be a good film.

Yeah, but it's del Toro! To whatever degree it might look like something else, you know his fingerprints are gonna be on it.
Pretty excited about this. Monsters = good. Monsters + giant robots = lkjkljeklj23ljk112#$#$@!.

My 8-year-old enjoyed it, but to me it looked like a really expensive Anime. Not because it's giant mechs fighting giant monsters, but because it's so much CGI. I'm sorry, but these days I'm having a harder time investing myself heavily into overly CG films.

I think the trailer for this one looks really good! But, that is coming from someone who really enjoyed Battleship, so....take that however you will.

If Guillermo Del Toro can't pull off a compelling movie about giant robots fighting monsters, no one can pull off a compelling movie about giant robots fighting monsters. Here's hoping for once that the story actually lives up the the amount of money dropped on special effects.
I'm kind of with dooms, in that it reminded me of the 1998 Godzilla when they show the prehistoric creature going after the bridge. I'll cop to enjoying the '98 'Zilla because I'm a huge Godzilla fan to begin with, but also I thought it was a fun flick, although with atrocious dialogue and the girl who played Matthew Broderick's girlfriend. But I didn't go to see it for the dialogue. I wanted a huge monster bashing the city and the military after it and that's pretty much what I got. But, I digress.
The trailer looks like a mix between Godzilla and a Transformers movie. I don't know if that's good or bad, but with Del Toro behind it, I'm more than willing to give it a try. So, I am looking forward to it.
