I have WAY TOO MANY to name....but I will try.
Here are the first few that I can think of.
The Arcade Fire - Wake Up
Watching this video just shows how energetic they are at shows, and it shows through their music as well. They have dozens of songs that I listen to all the time. Crown of Love, Neighborhood #3, Rebellion. All great, but in choosing one, I chose this one. On a plus side, it's got David Bowie. If the songs sounds familair, but you can't place it. They did another version of it for the trailer to Where The Wild Things Are.
Nine Inch Nails - Hurt
A lot of people prefer the Cash version, and I like that version too. But I was more emotionally affected by this one. It's depressingly beautiful and real. If I were to chose only a handful of songs to throw into a vault for people light years later to find, this one would make it. This version would make it.
There are two songs from this next artist, Elliott Smith. I couldn't choose just one. Both of these songs are beautiful and emotional.
Elliott Smith - Twilight
Elliott Smith - Fond Farewell
A person I wish was around today to still give me the joy of music. I can only imagine what more he could have offered people in terms of his music. R.I.P Elliott.
Nirvana - Where Did You Sleep Last Night
One of the best covers of all time. He sings it with so much heart.
The Smashing Pumpkins - Disarm

I love the Smahing Pumpkins, but this is their one song that speaks volumes to me. I can listen to it on days end, never get tired.
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Otherside
To this day, my favourite Chili Peppers song. It's obvious what the song is about and it will forever be on my list of favourites.
More to come.....
