Director and co-screenwriter Jake Kasdan has done his homework here...every scene you have ever seen in a musical biopic is accurately spoofed here...from the childhood incident that haunts our hero to the "rise to success" montage to the hero's first discovery of drugs, to his lesson that....

This is a movie that I really enjoyed and thoroughly recommend for anyone who liked the biopics of recent years or just want a complete spoof of the music industry as a whole..
Yoda
He has a few hilarious, recurring scenes as Deweys drummer, Sam, who inadvertently encourages Dewey to climb his way up the drug ladder by describing their wonderful effects in a misguided attempt to discourage him.
