Re: The MoFo Top 100 Musicals Countdown

I think Aladdin is fine, but it always feels to me like Robin Williams's genie overwhelms the rest of the film. Did not make my list.

Rob Marshall has had a hit-or-miss career, but Chicago was a...

Yep, here's two more of mine. I think Fiddler on the Roof wavers a bit in the second half, but it was still strong enough to be my #15. Still think it's wild that Topol pulled off this role in his...

We're now into my part of the countdown, I guess.

Labyrinth is a little dopey, it must be admitted, but also kind of gonzo, which makes it my kind of movie, so I snuck it onto my list at the back...

I'm pretty meh on Yankee Doodle Dandy (and I'm not the only one, it seems). That Thing You Do is a lot of fun but I didn't vote for it.

Huh, I could have sworn that I've seen Les Misérables, but I can't find any record of having done so. Then again, that was the year my son was born and I spent half of it crazed from sleep...

I said before that Sing Street was the one film I wanted to see for this countdown, but I guess a second one would have been The Young Girls of Rochefort.

Sing Street was the one film I really wanted to get to before voting, but alas, I did not manage it. All the more reason now.

Nashville was my #24, one of the small number of films I voted for...

We probably had somewhere between 700 and 900. Halloween is big in our neighborhood.
