It's too immediately responsive. That is, if I watch something new, say, a music video from a band performing in a genre I don't usually watch (listen), I immediately get more recommendations of this sort. Ignoring the recs doesn't always work, unfortunately. Maybe I indeed need to resort to thumbing them all down, or choosing I'm not interested in that content, but it's a hassle.

Yeah, watched some videos on abortion, but that's it.
No, just the big pharma shill videos, I am guessing.

I plan to do something I haven’t done in a while and spend the whole day at the movies, maybe go to two-three different local cinemas, but finally catch up on everything I haven’t seen.
I’m familiar with the sentiment but ambivalent about it. I had to nurse a family member through clinical depression when I was 11 (yes, eleven), and a few times since, and never did it occur to me to say that it was a choice on her part to be unhappy. Now, I am not depressed and I don’t even think about life in terms of ‘being happy’ (I don’t feel unhappy), but this is a strange take to me. In any case, on we power.
A wise person a long time ago once told me, "Only we decide if we're happy or not."

I’m a bit better, thank you very much for asking, Galactic Traveler. I still want to cry, but at least I went out. Getting there.
