The Shoutbox
For what it's worth, I rewatched Eros Plus Massacre for the 3rd time and it's an artistic masterpiece but anybody knows that. My actual theory is that Yoshida criticizes the left even though he sides with it but that brings a very interesting analysis of space (also within the frame) and time (with characters freely transcending both) as well as many leftist ideas, from anarchism to free love to revolution. All that with some of the best cinematography of all time, including an avant-garde use of white and characters often pushed to the sides of the frame like in best Antonioni bit also inspired by modernist architecture. An avid student of both Ozu and classic painting, Yoshida made a film that's at the opposite end of Ozu's late masterpieces and proposes (along with The Affair and Heroic Pirgatoryet all) a wholly different approach to filmmaking (more striking nd unique visually than most other Japanese New Wave masterpieces). This is true art of cinema, with every frame endlessly thought through, over, and out.
So a 2/10 instead of 1/10?
I rewatched Age of Ultron like a year ago and it was better than I remembered. Or at least, the dialogue was better than I remembered.
on topic, I'm Age of Ultron into the MCU cinematic timeline. and I've been binging Hell on Wheels again.
one day, I will be can't.
or if you can't, you're screwed. But not in a good way.
It's all good. So long as you find yourself again.
Gonna have "Crawling" in my head all day now...

Yes! Didn't they make it into a movie or a miniseries or something?
