I get that. Which is why I’m constantly on a hunt to dig up the most obscure ones. And I’m one of the few people feeling actively grateful for the internet for that exact reason every day. But that doesn’t mean I don’t wish I could find something new, somehow processing contemporary concerns, but with that ‘70s/‘90s vibe. People keep trying, of course, hence the faux Scorsese of ‘Joker’. But it’s all just off.

same way everyone tries to get their kid into a good charter school. they will eventually try to get their kids into phone free zones. i'm glad phones, even just the shit ones, didn't become ubiquitous until i was in high school.

i actually got my cake and ate it too. it went straight to my ass!
