Such sadness. With Young Frankenstein as my favorite movie ever, this is hitting hard. So many from that movie are gone now.

OMG. OMG, OMG,...I should have been prepared for this one because she had been having health issues for a long time, but I still couldn't face it. OMG...Young Frankenstein, my favorite Mel Brooks movie and she was robbed of an Oscar for Tootsie. I even loved her in One From the Heart. And you had to give it to anyone who could completely captivate David Letterman. Loved her as Phoebe's mom on Friends too. I will be in mourning for the rest of the day. I don't like this one.

She had the comedic chops, charm, and beauty!!! Definitely one of the GOATs of comedy. Will miss her dearly!

Awwwww no. Terrible news. I've loved her in pretty much everything I have seen her in.

The original manic pixie dream girl. A brief stint as America's mom. Always fun. I can't imagine her possessing so grave a disposition as to actually die. Therefore, I say this is fake news.
Such a bummer I had a big crush on Terri Garr almost as much as David Letterman did. I use to watch Letterman and seen all of Terri's appearances, they were golden, especially the shower.
I first seen her when I was a kid watching endless reruns of Star Trek and I'm old enough to have went to the theater and seen her in Young Frankenstein. Loved her in everything.

She was a natural beauty, yet she had such an understated, cute, slightly-quirky, laid-back, and down-to-earth personality.
I have one memory where I spotted this girl dancing at a pool party in a movie (I think it was one of those Annette Funicello movies... probably Pajama Party (1964)) and I said, that looks like a young Teri Garr - I was so proud of myself that I recognized her. Apparently, she started out dong several uncredited stints as a background dancer or partygoer in similar movies.

Everything everyone has mentioned about her is precisely what I was going to mention having seen her in. So I'll say that I was already missing her during her illness and now it's taken her and the missing her part is more permanent. She was so pleasant and funny and beautiful and it hurts. Godspeed, Teri.

I hope you guys can see this, but "Weird Al" Yankovic's wife, Suzanne, posted this on Instagram: Teri Garr was once a back-up dancer for THE SUPREMES. I had no idea.
