What are some streaming services out there?

I prefer downloads of movies/videos. Are there any such providers?
If not, besides Amazon and Netflix, what are some other streaming service providers? Any, in particular that focuses on animation in general?

For downloading movies, you could purchase them from the itunes store/app (sometimes called the Apple tv app) or from the Google store and then download them to a device. I have purchased movies downloaded to my phone, so I could watch them even without an internet connection. For streaming services, I think Criterion Channel is the best. There are also streaming services from Arrow, Disney+ and Apple tv+. I don't know of any that focus primarily on animation though.

Among the various streaming services available, Pikashow APK for TV is a fantastic option. It offers a wide range of content, including movies, TV shows, and more. Besides Pikashow, popular streaming services include Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime Video. Each platform has its unique offerings, so it depends on your preferences. What type of content are you specifically looking for?

I seriously think the Criterion Channel is far and away the best streamer there is out there, I love that each month they bring us a bunch of new titles, some licensed from the major studios, but always carefully curated and organized around compelling themes. I am not sure it is accessible outside of the US and Canada, however.

One more thing to love about CC: they take so much care to create a whole entire section with all of the titles that will be leaving at the end of the month. I don't see Netflix, Prime Video, Paramount+ or any of the other big-time streamers doing that; at best, they will have a short row of titles (but never a complete listing) so there's always a chance you'll miss out on something you really wanted to watch before it left that streamer.

If you're looking for streaming options beyond Amazon and Netflix, check out Hulu, Disney+, and HBO Max. Disney+ is awesome for animation—tons of classic and new stuff. For downloads, Google Play Movies and Apple TV+ are great choices for offline viewing. I’ve found Disney+ particularly handy for keeping the kids entertained with all the animated films.

I recently started a subscription to Criterion Channel since they have some David Lynch I want to watch. Interesting stuff. The only thing I think they could definitely stand to do better is work on their interface.

I think their interface is just perfect as it is!

Agreed. I think they have the best interface out of all the streaming services I have tried.

They definitely have the best section to let you catch everything that's leaving at the end of the month!

What is it that you don't like about the interface or what do you wish was different? I've not used the Criterion Channel but I often find myself wishing commercial web sites were designed more efficiently.

It’s A Classic Rope-A-Dope
I think the Criterion interface kicks the snot out of things like Prime and Netflix. Filmstruck was so perfect though, that I do still miss it. That service just killed it, and it’s still a bummer it died. I sure hope Criterion never does, because it is 1B to Filmstruck’s 1A.

Netflix search results:
movies to watch on a warm summers day
movies that make you feel good
movies to watch with pizza
movies that were in the above list that we want to show you again

I freaking hate it, but I think Prime is even worse because they are giving you results you can’t even watch with your subscription. Only reason I keep Prime is free shipping, anything that comes on there to watch is a bonus. I dip in and out of Netflix. All they push now is their originals. 99% of which I have no interest in.

I have

Prime Video,
MAX
Hulu/Disney+/ESPN
Paramount+
Appletv
Starz
PBS Passport
Peacock
Netflix
Tubitv
Pluto
Fawesome
Freeview
Kanopy
Hoopla
Plex
Roku Channel

I want Viaplay but don't want to add to my Prime which seems the only way now offered.

I used to have Shudder and MGM+

I've never used Prime and as you know I don't really stream except I've had a subscription to Paramount+ and Netflix for a short time. With Amazon we just put things into the cart and when we have over $50 it's free shipping.

I don't like the graphics and / or I don't like that they appear as small as they do. It is a shrunken down version of the movie cover which isn't as appealing to the eye. The front-page was also cluttered with interviews and commentaries intermingling with the movies and I don't like to sift.

However, it is worth mentioning that I am referring to the Xbox app version. When I go to the version on my computer, it looks drastically different. It is cleaner, more organized, and the graphics are all completely different.

I can understand that. I was wondering if you were viewing Criterion Channel on a phone and others viewing it on their computers. I wonder if the Xbox app looks the same as the phone app?

The only one worth mentioning (because all the others are obvious) is Dropout, which is a ridiculous bargain at like $5/month for some really, really great comedy shows.

The AppleTV app looks very nice and clean
