Is Taylor Swift talented??

Taylor Swift is extremely talented, regardless if one likes her songs or not.

I'm not really a fan but she must have talent if she's a billionaire

I think one can safely say that, yes. Either that, or that she knows her craft. She can play various instruments, has a lot of experience with songwriting and composition, and can modulate her voice well. Regardless of what one thinks of the particular focus of her output, I think her technical skills in her field are quite well established at this point.

I can see the alien conversation now.

"We found intelligent life. Let's visit their planet!"

"I don't know, boss, they seem to think this Taylor Swift oaf is talented."

"Very well. Turn the ship around and hit warp speed!"

Well, of course aliens would say that, they do not even understand the human concept of music!

I remember the era when music was actually good. Bands like Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Rush, The Beatles, Janis Joplin, Fleetwood Mac, The Doors, etc. Nowadays it's mostly untalented crap. In our current times image is apparently a substitute for raw talent.

Surprisingly, I haven't seen it yet.

The funny thing is, I am not a Swiftie but I did watch the concert film at least 3 times. It was a good time.

And yet I don't have any of her albums or anything.

What do you think are her best songs?

I don't remember the songs by title. I liked the one that she sang at the start, and then the one where she "dives" into water or something.

Also the one where she's up in some kind of treehouse.

Sorry, I wish I knew her songs well enough to know the titles.

Can she write good songs? Debatable.

Can she sing consistently without relying on a backing vocal track? Maybe.

Can she market herself as relatable and folksy? Definitely.

Does any of this matter? Nope, not at all.
