I should've stuck with my initial instinct and left JSN on the bench, but instead I plugged him into my starting lineup shortly before kickoff and he proceeded to post his 3rd lowest total of the season. Terry McLaurin's appearance on the injury report forced my hand a bit. If I didn't play JSN last night and McLaurin's ankle ailment gave him a questionable tag, Devonta Smith (with Kenny Pickett as his QB) would've been my only pivot, so I decided to play it safe. Besides, JSN has been on a tear the last two months, averaging 17.2 points (second only to Chase), so I thought I was probably foolish not to start him. I wish now that I had just stuck with Sutton as I'd originally planned, especially with McLaurin now cleared to play. Any time I make a last-second change it seems to backfire more often than not.
JSN's poor night has kept the door open, and I feel like Yahoo is being too conservative with your projections. Bucky Irving just scored 26 points against Carolina four weeks ago. Jordan Love had 36 against Minnesota earlier this year, while Jayden Reed had 23 that game and Jacobs only 9.8 (his second-lowest total of the season). I don't expect that GB/MIN to play out the same way this week, but if it does, I'm in trouble. I'm hopeful that Patrick Surtain can at least prevent Chase from having a ceiling game, but I'm terrified of Gibbs. He's scary when splitting the workload with Montgomery. Now he's got the backfield to himself. Even if I'm up 30 going into MNF, I won't feel safe.
Captain couldn't have asked for a better start. In fact the Mahomes 32 may have done me in. Think that's his high all year.
Edit I guess second highest
