From some other forum, a poster asked this question:
Back in the late 70s when the local channels still showed late-night creature features I saw a dubbed foreign one that featured (I think) a giant snail that terrorized the community. Naturally, when I saw it I was kind of high, so while it impressed me I know my recollection must be shaky. I think it might have originally been in Spanish, but there wasn't any dialogue to speak of. Instead, it was entirely narrated.
They simulated the Monster by bobbing a snail head up and down on a board from a sawhorse. Citizens would scream in panic and then fall down as the bobbing snail head advanced on them - I suppose to slime them to death.
I am pretty sure he is not thinking of "Slugs". I can't provide any other clues. I am a sucker for the old 50s movies like "Them". And so bad it is good movies. This sounds really funny to watch.
Any ideas?
