That is a fantastic list. Thank you so much. I've seen roughly half, and will watch the other half in due course.

I'm so glad you put 'The Sure Thing' there. It's on of my favourite ever.

I miss this sub-genre

National Lampoon’s Vacation (1983)

Midnight Run (1988) is a very enjoyable action/comedy/road film starring Robert DeNiro and Charles Grodin.

DeNiro as a bounty hunter is tasked with bringing a mob accountant (Grodin) from Chicago to L.A. for a trial. There are some hilarious scenes and twists, with a great ending.

Need a laugh? Check out John Cusack and Daphne Zuniga in "The Sure Thing"

Also answers to Jabba
The Criterion Cut of Wim Wenders' Until the End of the World is truly excellent in every respect. The opening card even says 'the ultimate road film'. Very highly recommended.

My picks have likely already been mentioned, but here are some of my favorites:

Almost Famous
Badlands
Dead Man
It Happened One Night
Kings of the Road
Life, and Nothing More
Paper Moon
Paris, Texas
The Passenger
Sorcerer
The Straight Story
Stranger Than Paradise
Thelma and Louise
Two-Lane Blacktop
The Wages of Fear
Wild Strawberries
Y Tu Mama Tambien
