Memento vs Polytechnique
I haven't watched Polytechnique. So by default went for Memento which I enjoyed.
Insomnia vs Incendies
Incendies wins by a close margin. Insomnia is an underrated gem and Williams' performance was great in it.
The Prestige vs Prisoners
I thought Prestige was alright. On the other hand Prisoners was my first Villeneuve movie and I was blown away.
The Dark Knight vs Enemy
I haven't watched Enemy. On the other hand Dark Knight for me is the best superhero movie of all times.
Inception vs Sicario
Again close one this. But Sicario edges it. I thoroughly enjoyed Inception though.
Interstellar vs Arrival
Arrival was far more cerebral. Interstellar for me was not a bad flick, but I would prefer Contact over Interstellar. Both sharing similar kind of ideas but Contact being smarter with inferior special effects.
Dunkirk vs Blade Runner 2049
Blade Runner 2049 is one of my all time favourites, so there was absolutely no competition here.
Also, Villeneuve for me is a slightly better director than Nolan who in recent times cares more about box office, while Villeneuve is only concerned about the story and is therefore able to avoid certain cliches.
