It also screams 70's. Just looking at what Jaime Lee Curtis, Nancy Kies and P.J. Soles wear throughout the movie and it's impossible not to think of the 1970's.

To be fair, I haven't seen a lot from the 80's but there really is only one film that gets a 8/10 or higher for me from the 80's, that being Rain Man.

That would probably either be The Breakfast Club or First Blood. Extreme opposite ends of the spectrum, but I enjoyed both.
