My Worst Television Spinoff List

34.

The Ropers

Norman Fell and Audra Lindley got enough laughs as the landlords of Jack, Chrissy, and Janet on Three's Company that ABC decided to spin them off into their own series. Fell was particularly reluctant about doing the spinoff and only agreed to do it if they could return to Three's Company if it flopped. It did flop, but Fell and Lindley weren't allowed to return to the original series either and the Ropers just became part of TV history.

33.

Living Dolls

This spinoff from Who's the Boss was centered around a friend of Samantha Micelli's named Charley (Leah Remini) who is discovered by the owner of a teen modeling agency (Michael Learned). As you can see, one of the other models on the show was future Oscar winner Halle Berry.

32.

Joanie Loves Chachi

This sorry excuse for a sitcom, that was based on the romance between the kid sister of Richie Cunningham on Happy Days and the nephew of the Fonz, actually ran on ABC for two entire seasons. Yes, there was a modicum of chemistry between Scott Baio and Erin Moran, it wasn't enough to justify this spinoff.

George & Mildred, the UK version of the Man About The House (Three's Company) spin off. was good.

Was there a US version of Robin's Nest? Robin (Jack) starts a bistro.

Fish

The recent passing of Abe Vigoda doesn't change the fact that this spinoff of Barney Miller that found the senior detective and wife Bernice (Florence Stanley) adopting five rowdy foster children was a steaming pile of crap. One of the kids involved in this debacle was future Diff'rent Strokes star Todd Bridges.

30.

Hello Larry

This sitcom was the classic bad spinoff, so bad it was part of stand up comedy monlogues for years...it starred McLean Stevenson as a radio talk show host introduced on NBC's Diff'rent Strokes who starts a new life in Portland Oregon. During its brief time on the air, this show went through numerous cast changes, always a bad sign.

29.

Josie and the Pussycats in Outer Space

The original cartoon about an all-female rock and roll band and their manages Alexander and Alexandra, was inexplicably moved to an outer space setting and died a merciful death.

Josie and the Pussy Cats went to outer space for an entire series? I don't know the original show well, but that does seem odd.

27.

Port Charles

This spinoff of the long running daytime soap General Hospital tried to create a separate world from its mother show borrowing a few characters from GH and blending them with a bunch of brand new characters, working in the same hospital but having nothing to do with the GH hospital staff. The show sealed its fate when it started a storyline revolving around vampires.

26.

Richie Brockelman, Private Eye

This short-lived series was a spinoff of The Rockford Files that starred Dennis Dugan, who would later find greater fame as the director of some of Adam Sandler's most popular movies.

33.

Living Dolls

This spinoff from Here's the Boss was centered around a friend of Samantha Micelli's named Charley (Leah Remini) who is discovered by the owner of a teen modeling agency (Michael Learned). As you can see, one of the other models on the show was future Oscar winner Halle Berry.
I didn't even recognize Leah Remini or Halle Berry! All I saw was that the girl in dark blue is wearing a classic Star Trek uniform!

P.S. Did you mean "Who's the Boss"?

25.

Patridge Family 2200 AD

This animated spinoff of The Partridge Family found the family in outer space and featured three original cast members lending their voices to the show. This show was so stupid.

I didn't even recognize Leah Remini or Halle Berry! All I saw was that the girl in dark blue is wearing a classic Star Trek uniform!

P.S. Did you mean "Who's the Boss"?
I sure did...changing it right now...thanks.

24.

Sanford

After Sanford and Son went off the air, Red Foxx was offered an hour long variety series that failed quickly so NBC decided they wanted to revive Sanford and Son, but Demond Wilson had no interest in returning to the role of Lamont, so Fred was brought back with a new white partner (Dennis Burkley) and Esther (LaWanda Page) was also brought back as the bane of Fred's existence.

23.

The Golden Palace

When Beatrice Arthur decided to leave The Golden Girls NBC decided to spin off the other three cast members (Betty White, Rue McClanahan, Estelle Getty) into another show where they would run a hotel but nobody cared. This show was an early job for future Oscar nominee Don Cheadle.

22.

Three's a Crowd

During the final season of Three's Company, Jack (John Ritter) began dating a stewardess named Vicky (Mary Cadorette) and when it was decided that the show would return, Joyce DeWitt (Janet) and Priscilla Barnes (Teri) were unceremoniously let go and this spinoff was created focusing on the romance between Jack and Vicky and the interference from her dad (Robert Mandan).

21.

America's Funniest People

This spinoff of America's Funniest Home Videos, originally hosted by Dave Coulier and Arleen Sorkin, wasn't much different than the parent show and I guess people noticed.

20.

The Brady Kids

This animated spinoff featured the kids without their parents, their dog Tiger and a pair of Pandas named Ping and Pong. The six stars of the original sitcom did lend their voices to this cartoon initially, but three of them dropped out before the show stopped production.
