STOMP FREAKIN' TASTIC!
Where do i begin, this film is 90% mint!

OK, so Godzilla it's not, but damn, what a film.

Basic snenopsis:

Sub comander investigates UFO and turns nasty. F16 pilot gets hit by a red 'body' of light and turns goody goody.
Fighting ensues.

Effects:

Mainly rubber suit and CGI mixed. Some of the CGI is bad, even Hausen'esqe but some of it is tip top.

Soundtrack:

Su-freaking-perb. Its classical/rock/jolly. For some reason the soundtrack really got me 'involved' with the film.... absoluteley adorable.

Action Scenes:

Ground fight scenes can seem a little Mutronics/Guyver' ish, and at some points a bit Power Rangers (which made me laugh). BUT, the aerial fight scenes are somewhat spectacular. (imo)

Story:

Nice. Obviously fantasy, but at the same time it's deep and meaningful with a touch of 'feel good' about it.

Overall:

Well worth a watch. Like i said, Godzilla it aint but as far as Asia go for knocking out this sort of movie i'd say at least give it a rent. If not buy it.... got my dvd of eBay for under a fiver.

Full details of the dvd, and some fantasic screenshots are here:

Enjoy;

SARGE!

Standing in the Sunlight, Laughing
Is this a new straight-to-dvd release, or an older film?
I didn't know there were Ultraman dvd's. I used to love that show when I was a kid. It was shown interspersed with Johnny Sako's Flying Robot.

Samsonite Delilah, if you liked Johnny Soko, you ought to check out the Giant Robo anime from the 90s. It's a different take on the classic comic worlds created by Mitsuteru Yokoyama.
