Movie about girl who finds necklace at easter egg hunt? Please help!

In the 80's or early 90's there was a movie on tv which was about a young girl (may have been a girl scout?). She and other children went on an easter egg hunt where the girl found an easter egg with some kind of necklace in it. I remember the girl found the egg in the crook of a tree, and it was beutifully decorated. After she found it, I remember her chasing a deer into the woods. She lost the deer and turned around to go back but the path had disappeared. The only other part i remember is the girl walking up to a house in the woods, knocking, and an elderly person answering the door - it was one of her parents. She is still a little girl but her mother and father have grown very old, as though she had gone through some kind of time warp and many years had passed. Does anyone remember this movie and what is the name of it? It's been driving me crazy!

Hi there! I googled easter movies for kids/children--no help. Then I searched for time warp movies for kids. I wound up on www.magicdragon.com --under the page for sci-fi time machine movies...I looked at all 120 titles and none of them matched your description. I'm so sorry sweetie. I really, really tried. Then I thought, the description sounds like Alice in Wonderland or The Wizard of Oz---maybe it was some sort of made for tv movie spin-off????

Anyway, I hope you find your film. It would be more helpful if you had at least one name of a character of an actor and whether or not it was foreign...even a quote would help. Good luck with your search!

This film does sound familiar to me, but I can't understand why. The only thing I can think of is that I saw a tv programme that had an episode like this. Are you sure it was a film?

Thank you so much for trying to help me! I really think it was a movie, not a TV Show, but I could be wrong. And I don't know the names of any of the actors or characters - it was so long ago! I just remember that the girl was maybe 8-10 years old.

PS - It definitely wasn't foreign, and I don't think it was some sort of spin-off. It did remind me of Flight of the Navigator though, because of the whole kid-travelling-through-time thing. Or maybe Flight of the Navigator reminded me of it... whichever movie I saw first reminded me of the other.

I have spent years trying to figure out the name of the same movie. After spending several hours searching the internet today, I now believe it was an episode of the TV series Amazing Stories. It is from 1987, episode 19 from season 2, titled Without Diana. Based on the descriptions of the episode I thought it might be the same thing I remembered, but I found another link that completely convinced me it is the same. It has screen shots from the episode and I think you will find they exactly match the scenes you are describing above about the girl at an Easter egg hunt, the deer in the woods, going home to her elderly parents, etc. I hope this solves the mystery for you like it did for me.
