Feel free to comment on what movie you picked, these movies will be going onto my top 80's movies list, following from these other 6 movies on this thread link below http://www.movieforums.com/community...ad.php?t=42421

The list will be top 30, so there's other movies that could possibly go on there

They're so different I can't select one over another. (I would say, of the Sci-Fi's, I like Robocop the best.)
They"re all good - I love each one of these for different reasons (but I can't comment on Nightmare on Elm Street because I've never seen it.)

Back To The Future easily for me, once upon a time it was my favourite film. I do like them all to varying degrees though, except The Untouchables which I can't stand.

@Captain - lol the same for me it was hard to select one so I just selected RoboCop so I can just see the votes.

Trying Real Hard To Be The Shepherd
BTTF for sure. Christmas Story is a favorite of mine as well. The rest are only okay for me. 80's action doesn't hold up that great and I have never cared about Roger Rabbit much.

I voted for A Christmas Story, Back to The Future is a favorite too. Nightmare on Elm Street would be my least favorite, but ya, I did see it back in the day.

Really? I think it's fantastic (and I've never been really big on movies depicting the Capone era). One intense scene after another - all the Sean Connery scenes (esp. the shooting the already-dead guy scene), the Capone baseball bat scene, the baby carriage on the steps scene, the "Did it sound anything like that?" rooftop scene, the courtroom scenes, etc.
What don't you like about it?

I thought the dialogue was awful more than anything, had me cringing all over the place. I'd also say IMO Connery gave the worst Oscar winning performance I've seen.

A Nightmare On Elm Street BY FAR

Fair enough. (Was it Connery trying to do an Irish accent?)

That was a big part of it yeah, Scottish people should stay away from most accents with Irish being high on the don't does. I'm Scottish and half my family is Irish who I grew up around and I'd never attempt one .

I think nostro would kill me if I didn't vote for Nightmare on Elm Street.

See, even of the Sci-Fi films, I like Robocop best for it's satire, social / media commentary, exaggerated violence, and black humor. I like Predator best as a straight forward Sci-Fi action film. And Back to the Future as a family fun, Sci-Fi comedy. (Ghostbusters has elements of Sci-Fi, but probably wouldn't be classified as such.)

You mean me? Kei's cousin?

No frickin' way. The Untouchables is awesome.

I voted for Ghostbusters, but I also like Back to the Future and A Christmas Story.
