Terrifier 3

"Honor is not in the Weapon. It is in the Man"
It's officially happening. Lauren LaVera (Sienna) and David Howard Thornton (Art the Clown) are returning as is writer/director Damien Leone. The budget is expected to be four times bigger than that of Terrifier 2.

Well, I've liked the previous two, but I still prefer the simplicity of the original. As much as I enjoyed it, most of the plotlines in the second felt like a bloated build-up to the inevitable third one.

I hated the first, but felt like the second gave me all that I wished the first one had.

I'm not a fan of this franchise or whatever, but I'm interested in the third.

I liked the second one, even if I didn't want to, but I think the only way my interest can be drawn towards suffering a third one is if they truly break boundaries here and give us a Satantango length movie of unbearable unpleasantness.

If it's not at least six hours long, count me out.

"Honor is not in the Weapon. It is in the Man"
On November 1, Terrifier 2 is getting re-released in theaters and those who attend will get to see the teaser trailer to Terrifier 3 and an introduction from Damien Leone.

"Honor is not in the Weapon. It is in the Man"

Art the Clown is going to give some Season's Killings in the upcoming Terrifier 3

"Honor is not in the Weapon. It is in the Man"
Release date: October 25, 2024.

Studios talked to Damien Leone about wanting to help produce the new film, but Leone turned them all down because he refuses to bow down to listening to studio pressure in terms of what he can and can't use. He's once again making the entire film himself and vows that if you thought "Terrifier 2" was insane, wait til you witness the first 5 minutes of "Terrifier 3" because he says it will be controversial.

IMO, Damien Leone is an embodiment of independent cinema.

Terrifiers may be mediocre movies, but the above makes Leone a 5/5 filmmaker.

I’m excited.

The first one I did not like at all. It just felt like a poor cheap snuff film trying too hard with style over substance. And that style wasn’t all that.

However, the sequel, actually having just a very basic core of somewhat of a story and then just upping everything and actually feeling ambitious and moody and nasty in all the right and wrong ways.

The third being a Christmas slasher sounds perfect.

Itll be controversial because kids will probably tortured in this one too.

Demian Leone's Terrifier 3

I think at this point, almost anyone who's into the Terrifier movies has come to know what to expect in terms of blood and gore, and that kind of stuff, in which case I think it's sufficient to say that on that department alone, the movie probably will not disappoint anyone who is into the movies mostly because of that.

Memory's a bit hazy but I seem to remember the earlier films in the series to have a more abstract quality, which somehow added to their appeal. There were parts that felt like you didn't know if you were watching something that happened IRL or in some weird alternate universe, or something along those lines.

In any case, the latest film in the series has, needless to say, come with a bigger budget and it looks more polished and feels more like a professional production than its predecessors. That, depending on your point of view, may be a pro or a con.

To me, it just felt like Leone has started adopting many of the story contrivances that became popular in other horror series, which makes this entry feel a little less original and more like a generic horror film with the trademark Art the Clown stuff added almost as an afterthought.

Sure enough, audiences seem to be reacting positively, at least on opening weekend, as the movie has become a top box-office hit and will likely end up outgrossing all its predecessors put together.

Leone has already said that he's working on a 4th film in the series, so it probably won't surprise anyone that this one may not have the most definitive of conclusions. With any luck, the next installment will be an improvement on this one.

"Honor is not in the Weapon. It is in the Man"
The film as of today has grossed $63.4 million and with a budget of $2 million, that's amazing!!! The SFX were not done by Damien Leone this time, but they were supervised by Jason Baker, a protege of the legendary Tom Savini, whose best known work could be the masks of Ethan Hawke's Grabber in The Black Phone and designed the "fiend" mask for the late WWE superstar Wyndham "Bray Wyatt" Rotunda. Also helping was John Caglione Jr., who did Heath Ledger's Joker make up for "The Dark Knight".

The script for Terrifier 4 may be already done as David Howard Thornton gave a cryptic message saying fans will be vindicated for saying there is a plot involving Art and the Terrifier. This may indicate that Terrifier 4 will delve into the origins of Art and the Terrifier and why Sienna is "the chosen one". The latter definitely seemed teased in the third film.

Fan of the first two, and thought this was a pretty solid entry.
If you dig the franchise then this to me actually seems like a improvement to that last one,
the plot made a bit more sense this time around (i guess?), however seemed less fun and moer brutal
(take that how you will). At this point the story is just pudding, but if you want to see art go mental on some on with a chainsaw..then badda bing badda boom.
