Realistic gunfire/silencers?

I am watching another spy/war movie with soldiers invading a terrorist camp. Of course, the silencers make the mission "easy" because they can keep sneaking around. Are there any worthwhile movies or series to watch that do realistic combats?

This belongs in Movie Questions or here, not sure I am. (My bad Yoda imitation)

Almost everything gun-related in movies and tv shows is unrealistic. If you know much about guns, how they work, what they sound like, etc., you just have to overlook it and enjoy the story anyway.

Agreed. In regard to gunfire, don't expect it to be all that realistic. We expect too much of action heroes who can use a handgun to shoot a dime while riding on horseback. We also miss just how loud a lot of gunfire is. Part of that is because the limited dynamic range of a movie sound makes them less intense. That's why people on shooting ranges generally wear ear protection; they prefer to not go deaf.

Personally, I've never been around a silencer in person, but we all have an idea in our minds that guns just make that oddly synthetic noise when they are used. I have been around people, including me, shooting guns and without ear protection, it really kills your ears after a while.
