You can't go wrong with Pulp Fiction. Tarantino's style became fully realized with PF, and many filmmakers good and bad have borrowed from it since then.

The only movies I tend to shy away from are romantic comedies. The ratio of **** films to good ones in that genre is probably way higher than any other.
