Why is this sentence so funny?

Probably because it makes them sound like a nuisance. Like a raccoon that keeps getting into your trash. "Damn it, is that fire out there again?"
Definitely not my intention. At least 9 people are dead from the current fires across the state, the town of Paradise is essentially nothing but rubble and ash, thousands of structures have been destroyed, and our P.O.S. president is threatening to withhold Federal funds.

Yes it is. It is totally based on actual events.
Don't I know it.

I'm so tired of dealing with fires. I'm not in any danger from the flames, but the air is full of smoke and ash again.

Nah, he ends up captured by Grandmaster and has a device stuck on his neck that electrocutes him.
Oh, right, I missed that that's what you were talking about - I saw "taser" and thought of humans using one on him in the first one. Hmm, I guess I'll settle for the explanation that it operates on a different type of energy than electricity.
As awful as the Bad Boys franchise was, the action coverage/editing is inspired. Very intricate and musical. Bay knows how to cause a ruckus.

Get ready for part 3 coming soon. Looks like Lawrence will have a little more pocket money. Maybe he won't blow the deal by asking to be matched with Will Smith's salary.

I also forgot about True Lies. That movie is great. Regardless of any internet speculation about JLC.
I think if you're like Patrick and trying to make content that explains what makes not just one of his films good but all of his films good then you start to pay attention to the technique and see what makes it stand out. It also helps if these are movies you've seen again and again so you start to pick up details in the craft once you've effectively memorised the plot and whatnot.

A recent example I noticed was when I watched the bit in Heat where Edie tries to start a conversation with Neil and he has his back to the camera as he tries brushing her off in his bluntly professional manner but when he has a change of heart and opens up to her the camera does this slow but noticeable slide so that he's framed as facing the camera. I'd seen the movie a whole bunch of times before that and it's such a quick little moment but this time I was just like "whoa". Craftsmanship.
