I don’t really understand your point/angle here. ‘Typical special effects’ could never make someone who isn’t, I don’t know, Peter Cushing look like Peter Cushing.

Indeed.

"Improving" the accents though is kinda awkward to read about, lol.
And the thing is that, to be fully transparent, generally speaking, accents *are* the sort of thing I tend to complain about when done very badly (eg Alec Baldwin or whoever speaking abysmal Russian), but once AI is used to rectify this, it becomes a slippery slope.

Yeah, I totally understand where you’re coming from. Deep inside I ultimately feel the same as you.
Maybe in a few years with some level of distance I'll give this movie a watch (Hopefully at least *most* of Brody's performance was actually left intact), but for now the reveal is too painful for me to give it an earnest shot. It really sucks having to pass it by.

It wasn't only for that, they also used AI at the end for several of the architecture drawings.
And buildings, not just drawings of buildings but actual buildings.
There is one major difference that cannot be ignored. You hire PEOPLE to do those jobs. AI can easily remove a lot of those tasks, frighteningly enough.
Films use other tools like makeup, visual effects, and editing to make actors look and sound better and to improve the look of films. I don't think AI is that much different from any of the other tools used.
