Flow - post-apocalyptic movie about a cat

I would watch it. I'm a cat mama and while growing up, we had dogs.

I don't mind animation.

I'm the opposite. My family's been all about rescuing cats ever since I was like nine, but I can't deny I am one with the dog. Nevertheless, my appreciation for cats and their cuteness even allows me to sense the glaring accuracy with which even the cast of the Cats movie walked. They nailed cat-walking, which is one of the few good things about that movie.

Oooh, this looks so amazing and adorable at the same time. Legit wanna see this really badly.

Hell, yes, I’m watching this. A cat from Latvia of all places.

Flow (2024)

In what has been a stellar year for small indie films this might be the best of the bunch. Flow is the story of a cat in a flood on earth...maybe. The film is a paradox a series of complex 2001 esque influences combined with the very simple story of a cat and other animals just trying to survive a disaster. This is perhaps the first sign of generations inspired by Miyazaki to go out and put their own imprint on cinema.

It's a silent film of sorts an adventure that's filled with gorgeous vistas and interesting ideas. It's a boat ride with animals with the star being the cat but it's not only about the cat. This film offers a number of character studies from the other animals that many a YouTube will dissect and discuss over the next year or so.

I fully expect this film to be a double nom...and perhaps a double winner when the Oscars come around.

Can’t wait to see this.

It's available on demand to rent or buy. It's worth the rental price (6.99 for me) for sure.
Sure, but I am trying to watch movies as I put them in letterbox. If I start picking & choosing I will only watch movies I’m tempted by, like Flow.

I hadn't heard of it before

They barely released the film the first time around...I had to see it in the middle of the day. The good news is that Friday it is getting a re release and I strongly recommend not doing the home view but seeing it in the theater. It's very much like A Quiet Place where the atmosphere matters.
