Ass i know, there have been movies made without any sound. One notable example is the silent film era, which spanned from the late 19th century to the early 1930s. During this time, films were typically produced without synchronized dialogue or sound effects. Instead, they relied on visual storytelling, intertitles (text displayed on screen), and live musical accompaniment in theaters to enhance the viewing experience.
Famous silent films include "The Birth of a Nation" (1915) directed by D.W. Griffith, "Metropolis" (1927) directed by Fritz Lang, and "The General" (1926) starring Buster Keaton. These films used various techniques such as expressive acting, elaborate sets, and creative cinematography to convey the narrative and emotions to the audience.
Anyway, movie sound track are still better, right??
Can e do modern movies that don't even have music to accompany them?? Movines that are supposed to be watched in total silence? Hence, "no soundtrack?"
This doesn't accurately answer your question but Mark Jenkin doesn't record any of the sound while he shoots his films. They are technically made audioless.
Both 'Bait' and 'Enys Men' were made this way. They are not silent films however, as they are released with sound - artifically made foley and dialogue that is recorded in the studio to give it a creepy otherworldly feel. And it totally works.
