Deep Red (1975)

One of my favorite horror movies and Dario Argento's masterpiece with Suspiria being second! i first rented this when i was 9 and thought it was a scary flick, a nice dose of psychological thrills with some gore and a unique score by Goblin. This movie is an influential cult classic to some filmmakers including Tarantino to James Wan.

I love Deep Red as Well but prefer Suspiria by a bit mainly because of the score and soundtracks.

The eye in giallo is like a vagina in porn. It appears so often you want it every time you watch one!

I rated it but maybe I need a rewatch. I initially gave Suspiria , but then rewatched it and increased the rating to . I haven't seen that many giallo films, actually! Like a dozen. I need to catch up on them and I will just after I catch up on Hammer Horror (seen like 8-10).

Deep Red is my favorite of Argento's films after Suspiria. It's dated, but definitely has its place in horror history. I won't lie though, I had a hard time watching the first time; I think I respect it more than I like it.

Who else digs the score?

It's good just as Suspiria's, but my favourite is Tenebre.
