Can you help me find this movie

hey guys I've been wondering about a movie title, all that i can remember is that one of the main characters is played by John Cusack and they are in some kind of motel where they are trying to discover the identity of a serial killer and at the end it turns out that everything was happening in the head of some guy with multiple personalities disorder.

For some reason that movie reminds me off Mindhunters which i believe is also a kind off underrated movie.
