Hi! I wonder if anyone on this site can help me figure out the name of an old cop comedy movie I watched years ago on a UK tv channel.
Sadly my details of the movie are highly sketchy.
All I can remember about the film is that it was an American cop comedy from either the 70s or 80s. I vaguely remember it being about cops on nightshift getting up to various hilarious escapades.
There is one line that stuck in my head where one of the cops thinks he is turning on the charm when speaking to a radio operator. After the cop brags to his partner saying something along the lines of "I've got a real way with people " (this is extremely loose paraphrasing), the scene immediately cuts to the elderly lady on the other end of the radio saying to her co-worker "he sounds like an insufferable prick!" I Remember this line cracking me up.
There's also a conversation between one of the cops who is a total racist bigot and a black guy but the black guy doesnt mind his racism because "he just hates everybody " Again, I'm paraphrasing a lot here.
I know its vague information but if this rings a bell with anyone i'd love to hear your feedback as I remember it being a gem of a comedy but can't for the life of me find any info on Google.
Thanks! TP
