What's Your Favorite Movies of all time

Tools

This was my top 100 as of January of last year. Still pretty accurate.
First off, I've seen 30 out of 100 out of this list, I liked some of those movies on your list though. 2nd, that idea about going through your collection and eliminate them until you get to 100 sounds like a good idea, I'll probably try it out sometime.

You can't make a rainbow without a little rain.
Do you like any crime movies too or no? if you do which ones do you like

Most crime movies are too violent for my taste, so even if I like them, they rarely become a "favorite" movie for me. These are some of the crime movies that I like:

The Hot Rock (1972)
The Thomas Crown Affair (1999)
The Usual Suspects (1995)
The Sting (1973)
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969)
Zodiac (2007)
The French Connection (1971)
The Fugitive (1993)
Now You See Me (2013)

There are also a few Hitchcock crime movies I love, like North By Northwest, Vertigo, and To Catch A Thief, and also Wait Until Dark and Charade (not Hitchcock movies, but they're similar types of movies), but I consider those to be suspense movies rather than crime movies.

So you like the non violent side of crime huh, well that's fine everybody got different taste in movies.

What a big list you got here, I've only seen three movies from your list, Once Upon A Time in America, 12 Angry Men and Blade Runner.

Still a long way to go, then, you neophyte!

Im kinda surprised whenever i see people online who have issue with violence in movies.

I understand why some movies have violence in them. They're not necessarily bad movies. They're just not among my favorite movies. There's so much violence in real life that I don't feel the need to watch a movie with more violence.

BTW, this is just my opinion, not a statement against violence in movies. If you prefer violent movies, that's okay. You're entitled to your opinion too.

Shawshank Redemption for me.

Alec Baldwin reminds me of Gary Cooper in that shot. The Shadow's been on a couple of times in the UK recently and it certainly has its moments. Of course I love the era it's set in anyway.

What about non violent Thriller and Horror movies? you like any of them?

Absolutely! The props, sets and costumes ... everything seems quite authentic and it just adds so much to the film. It's not perfect by any means, but it's very entertaining, very classy and it definitely has its fans. And I agree with the Gary Cooper comparison, though I must admit, it hadn't occurred to me. The Shadow seems underrated and overlooked by the general public, but for anyone who loves movies, it's a great find that only gets better with age. I hate to use such a trite phrase, but it's like a fine wine that only improves over time.

I don't like "blood and gore" movies, but I like suspense/thriller movies, like Hitchcock's movies, Dial M For Murder (1954), North By Northwest (1959), etc.

Some other suspense thrillers I like are:
Wait Until Dark (1967)
Phone Booth (2002)
Shattered (2007)
The Sixth Sense (1999)
Frequency (2000)

I think the closest I come to liking horror movies is probably Jaws (1975) and Poltergeist (1982).

1. War of the Worlds
2. Blade
3. Baby's Day Out
4. Home Alone
5. PeterPan
6. Spiderman
7. The Mask
8. Stuart Little
9. Rat Race
10. Jeepers Creepers

Because I watch such movies horror or comedy.

A Good mixture of movies, seen all but one which is Peter Pan

Yea Jaws was good, I didn't like original Poltergeist movie that much, I prefer the remake version though, I thought it was descent.
