Giving Movies a Rating

Anything under
is not worth watching
But doesn’t 3 stars indicate an average film- can’t say anything bad about it but not in the very good league? Surely only 3.5 stars and above are worth watching in this case.

At least a 2 might be an interesting if flawed film or it might be entertainingly bad.

Hmmm. I'm currently making a list of my top 100 movies. They're a mixture of my favourite ones that I can watch over and over, and ones that I just think are a hugely amazing piece of film-making. So I have to make a distinction between the likes of 'Come and See' and 'When Harry met Sally'. I adore them both, for very different reasons, but 'Come and See' is clearly better than 'When Harry Met Sally'. So I can't rate them both 10 out of 10.
Whilst it might be viewed as condescending I do think there would be some logic in making separate lists based on entertainment and greater depth as there really such different experiences IMHO.

Maybe make it more in the eye of the beholder and just list films that YOU view in that fashion not making any claim that others should. I mean something like Pulp Fiction for example I could see being viewed both ways by different people.
