House MD

House MD has always been in my top 5 favorite television shows. It ran for 8 wonderful seasons. Hugh Laurie playing the title character House is without question my all-time favorite TV character. I love how he's a medical genius but is also an ego-driven narcissist. I have all 8 seasons on my laptop and never get tired of watching old episodes.

I used to watch the show religiously when USA Network ran marathon blocks every day. Its when they changed out his assistants is when I lost interest.

i have watched the series about 5 or 6 times now. it makes me too sad to think back on my time of life when i first watched it. so like, that many number of viewings was a cathartic experience for me. but knowing how much Bryan Singer was involved on the set, during my last watch through i noticed things, and i just can’t rewatch it anymore.

I really feel this. I recently rewatched it (2 months ago, I think) it was a strange experience, towards the end it became unpleasant. And I did also think back to when I first watched it. This time around I found it really sad and hated the last few seasons. They’re not even bad, but I feel like they ruined it for me because they’re too preachy/moralistic.

"House MD" is one of my favorite shows and one of the best medical shows on TV, in my opinion.

I recall liking House's grouchy demeanor, the counterpart to the usual "Doctor-Saint" thing.

Did you know there are TONS of Sherlock Holmes references in House? Here's some from Wiki:

- The resemblance is evident in House's reliance on inductive reasoning[18] and psychology, even where it might not seem obviously applicable,[12] and his reluctance to accept cases he finds uninteresting.[20]

- House's investigatory method is to eliminate diagnoses logically as they are proved impossible; Holmes uses a similar method.

- Both characters play instruments (House plays the piano, the guitar, and the harmonica; Holmes, the violin) and take drugs (House is dependent on Vicodin; Holmes uses cocaine recreationally).[18]

- House's relationship with Dr. James Wilson echoes that between Holmes and his confidant, Dr. Doctor Watson.[11]

- Shore said that House's name itself is meant as "a subtle homage" to Holmes.[11][22] House's address is 221B Baker Street, a direct reference to Holmes's street address.[12]

I love his character and especially the arc where they bring in his ex wife and he has to go through the trauma with his leg all over again.
