Redbox owner files for bankruptcy protection

They stopped getting new releases a while back.

I saw someone using a Redbox last week, at least I think they were using it but I'm not sure what the crowbar was for.

There is a kiosk over where I work, and it feels like every other week it is malfunctioning or outright offline. I love the concept of Redbox, but it always felt like there wasn't very much selection.

Each kiosk is supposed to have capacity for 700 titles

I remember the last time I looked, the kiosk had seven older movies and the videogame section had a "Please Check Back Later" disclaimer.

It was just reported that the bankruptcy filing has been converted from Chapter 11 to Chapter 7.

All the kiosks are to be shut down and all their DVDs liquidated.
