The Franchise (Armando Iannucci)

If you're a fan of Armando Iannucci, I don't have to tell you what wonderful spoofs he's capable of... so here's hoping that lightning will strike again with The Franchise, his new spoof of superhero franchises.



According to The Hollywood Reporter, the series will be written by Succession scribe Jon Brown.

The first episode dropped yesterday, it seems to be off to a good start, making good-natured fun of the superhero-industrial complex.

Himesh Patel and Richard E Grant are easily the most appealing actors in the cast so far, but I'm sure others will get a chance to shine in later episodes.

Also, did they use CG effects to make Billy Magnussen look that buff, or is he like that IRL? Either way, he seems delighted to be in this witty satire.

Second episode was even better than the first. I like where this is going. And I don't even have an invisible jackhammer.

Hadn't even heard of this. Definitely going to be checking this out now. Love his stuff. Hilarious.

Four episodes in, and already one of my favourite new shows. Really like the guest stars they have been having (Katherine Waterston, Nick Kroll, etc).
