Movie You're Watching Tonight

Cool, I think the Criterion sale is going on at B&N, I have a hankering to pick it up now.

And yeah, I'm not a big horror person (I like the old style eerie, ghostly stuff, not big on the slasher, gory) but I saw the first two, so I want to finish up with it. I thought X and Pearl were fine - I gave each 3 out of 5-stars, which is not stellar but a passing grade for me. So, if it can manage that I'll be happy.
My first cinematic love is Historical, then Arthouse, Extreme and then Horror.

I know ALOT of Scandinavian cinema.

Never seen this. Slipped my mind it even existed. Added to my list.
There are two versions. The 1963 and the 1990 version. I read the book when I was in middle school. I found it very disturbing back then.

Same here re the book. It is disturbing though. I quite like it and I do really enjoy such stories to this day. The Wilds and the like. Need to catch up on both adaptations one of these days, though sometimes such stuff leaves me a bit disappointed. It sounds strange, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen children’s cruelty depicted well enough (accurately enough?) on screen. No matter what a director does, I feel like the real thing is more vicious than that, like it’s a failure of imagination.

I enjoy "Troubled Teen" films. I have seen two films from Switzerland and one was a troubled teen and the other, a horror film.

So do I. ‘Troubled teen’ is such a broad category though. I watched a British film called Hoard a few months ago and that really stayed with me. It was a drama, no violence, little tension, little interaction between different teens, even, but wow did this stay with me.

Have you seen Ondskan?

I don't actually wear pants.
I'm 33 minutes into Big Clock, which I'll probably finish after dinner. The kiddos needed attending and dinner will be soon and the exciting crime just happened so I think it'll be the meaty part now, so I want to wait until I can watch it uninterrupted.

That's a great movie to watch in a theater.
