Basically a purgatory/prometheus tale for killing the guy?

I didn't pick up on much and I miss subtitles for some of Dafoe's monologue, I didn't even understand he was saying Promethean.

So, Pattinson's character killed a dude and this was his purgatory? Don't you have to die first?

I liked the movie for the spectacle. The message, hasn't it been done enough by now? Such great acting and vision, but I don't get much out of this story.

Watched it last night, great film, one of the best I've seen this year. Feel like I've said that quite a lot this past few weeks but still, The Lighthouse is an outstanding piece of work. It took me a while to appreciate The Witch but this was instant.

Lighthouse is one of the weirdest films I've seen. It's also awesome, in part because it's weird. Weird is captivating, to an extent. "Too weird" is possible (though for me hard to obtain).

I liked this movie, but it was a very uncomfortable viewing experience. It's one of those movies that I feel was very well made, I'm glad I saw it, but have absolutely no desire to sit though it again.

I can totally see that. It's such an odd movie. I don't negate a thing you brought up. I do, however, think Eggers made it as a film to make you wriggle and not as one to make you relax. I get it though.

Yeah I was so happy to watch Lighthouse for a second time a few months ago, and was so sad I couldn't finish it. It was on Tubi, and I started it, and had to do something, now I forget what, so I paused it and decided I'd return to it the next day, and it was gone. So I got like a third through it, and didn't get to finish it. That was disappointing. I decided I should buy it although I have yet to do so.
