Meshes of the Afternoon includes a woman with complex thoughts and feelings. In many parts of the world that would make her a Witch.
Halloween Horror Binge
Day of Wrath has at least one witch (and is a stone cold brilliant film, in my top 5 all time).
Kuroneko has 2 witches/ghosts.
Meshes of the Afternoon has a mysterious human-like figure with glass for a face.
Le Bonheur and the Bresson films, no. Although Bonheur is definitely horror imo, even if you don't realise it until right at the end.

Kuroneko I've always thought of as a Horror movie.
By total coincidence, I'm watching Le Bonheur tonight.

LOL.
Le Bonheur is like . . . social horror? I'm not sure how to explain it without getting into wild spoiler territory.

It's only my second Varda and I didn't like this one as much as Cleo (which was an instant favorite) but it was like the good type of refrigerator-moment movie. Meaning that the more I thought about it after it was done the more it felt like the film, which is so bright and bucolic and charming so much of the time, was actually kind of disturbing the whole time.
I actually wondered, during the phenomenal love-making scene (which I would instantly put among the best I've seen), "Is this just how the French are? Is everybody just so cool with extra-marital affairs that they can just talk openly about them while they're in the middle of them and ostensibly be in love with two people but it's actually fine cuz they're French?" And Therese's initial reaction really sold me that, "Wow, the French sure are different."
And then...
