do you donate blood?

I never could get the hang of Thursdays.
I've given blood loads of times but the last time I had finished the donation and was sitting at the snack table when a nurse rushed over and grabbed my arm - I looked and blood was just spurting out of my arm! I had to sit down on one of the special chairs until it stopped. Apparently this happens sometimes. It freaked me out somewhat. Now I see why they make you sit for 10 minutes and drink orange squash and not drive straight home...

Whoa!!! Glad you were okay!

I did it once in my life many years ago

I do not. I used to suck when having blood drawn. I never passed out, although I did get close the first few dozen times I got blood drawn. One blood draw gave me a migraine I was so bad with it. Now I usually just get wobbly for a few minutes so I stay seated for two or three minutes in the chair where my blood was drawn, and then I'm good.

However, even over the aversion to blood draws, with the pills I take and some of the issues I have, I am very hesitant to donate. I might have some anemia too so it's hard to test the waters. I think it would have been bad for the past couple years too since I had heightened liver enzymes in my blood.

Did they not put one of those cotton balls and med tapes on it? I'm glad you seem fine now, I'm just guessing and that is the impression I got. It just surprises me. In my experience, when getting needled, the nurse (I can't spell the official title) usually puts a stoppage on it. My mom frequently donates blood and they usually cotton her arm when they do it.
