I can already see the controversy; if anyone actually watches this film.
Not sure what the controversy is, and it's a show, not a film.

Anyhoo, I started watching this over the weekend, and a couple episodes in, I am enjoying it. They really nail the era, and I tend to like alternate reality what-if stuff like this.

Was really enjoying it then I stopped because of the season 1 episode 2 finale. Just seemed too far fetched for me. Ill probably give it another chance in the future. Heard theres alot of quality stuff on Apple +

For All Mankind is ridiculous. But if you commit to push past season 1 it’s easily one of the best sci-fi series of today.
Turned it off at s01e03. Can't I just skip season 1 and start at S2?

yeah, you can. i will say season 1 is a ****ing chore.
A lot of slow development and some side stuff that is not up my alley, but the final few episodes start moving along and the pace picks up. I just have one episode left in season one, and then I am on to season 2!

@TONGO: What was far-fetched (in an alternate reality sci-fi series) about the end of episode 2?

You ready? You look ready.

S1 never truly pays off later down the road with any sort of "ah, ah...that's why he did that in S1" moment. But it does a great job of setting the character arcs up for the following seasons. How the characters are in S1 largely continues into the rest of the show, but it is nice knowing their background motivations. Bout all it is good for is establishing the story in its altered timeline.

All I know is any reason to watch Joel Kinnaman is a great excuse to me! Even when he's playing an old man!

Old man...sounds like the show takes a time jump at some point. No spoilers, please!

If you are a Kinnaman fan, I assume you have seen Altered Carbon, season one?

each season has a time jump and you are three seasons behind, so i don't count that as a spoiler!

and yup, i have watched S1 of Altered Carbon more times than i can count. and i'm mega pissed we didn't get a S3. but S1...man, that whole show was carried by Kinnaman. by and far.

Yea, weird thing... I loved the first season, but just could not get into the second for whatever reason. The new sleeve was fine, I like that actor, but I just kept finding my mind wandering and myself not really being drawn into the world. Bummer!

Couple reasons why S2 was ass: first, was the writing...so many characters making stupid decisions and not seeing their hand in front of their face; second, while the main actor replacement is an OK actor he did absolutely nothing for the role. it was almost as if he just phoned it in and was reading from a prompter or some shit. at least Joel put his own spin on the character. hell, even the Asian lady played a better Kovacs than Anthony. just down right terrible. and third and final, they muddied the water by reusing sets from S1. like....why in the **** is the Nevermore on Harlan's World?

i just wanted another season to see an end for Poe's story. that actor was AMAZING
