I sort of root for them. Sort of. But at this stage that rooting mostly manifests as wanting them to tank so they can win eventually.

Man, he's so good. But the situation is depressing. I was saying this to a couple of my friends the other day, but between Skenes and Jones we added about 8 WAR in pitching...and won the same number of games. Which means while things look steady, the rest of the team got 8 WAR worse. That's crazy.

True. But admittedly that just makes me angrier that they haven't made a good faith effort to capitalize. Literally just a decent signing or two and they'd be in the thick of it, and baseball's playoffs are dumb so once you're in you've got a shot.

I'm not falling for that.

Pirates fans are really looking forward to a Livvy Dunne sighting when her bf pitches anyways.
