You know how I would've done these 'Best Movie actor/actress'? I would've made a thread without a poll and asked everyone to list all their favorite/best actor/actress of the 1990s. Then after a certain amount of time went by, say like 10-14 days, I'd count up which names got mentioned the most and then put the top most mentioned names in a poll in a new thread.

What would be the point in the poll if everyone has already given the ones they think are the best?

I think you'd get more involvement, but more importantly instead of just one person choosing what names are on the poll everybody could have a say, and then you would get a more accurate representation of MoFos opinions on who's the best actor/actress are.

More involvement if your little clique was doing it, rather than boycotting it because someone not in your clique did it?

You say that you would have done the following (implying that this would have been better than what I've done):

1. Asked everyone to name the actors they think were the best
2. After 2 weeks, you would count them up
3. You would then put the ones with the most votes in a poll

What I'm saying is, what's the point in the poll, when you have already asked people to name the ones they think are best, and then counted them up?

No there wasn't an earlier thread, and what I've done's fine.

It doesn't need you throwing your oar in saying you would have done this that or the other. The fact is you didn't, and if you did it sounds like it would have been pointless anyway.

I've put forward a carefully considered 32 actors. After a couple of days of other suggestions from others, I've added a further 9 to throw into the hat. If people aren't going to be named in a couple of days, then they aren't likely to be in the shakeup anyway, so I'm confident enough that there's nobody missing from the list that would have had a serious chance of winning it.

As I see it you're just being negative for the sake of it.

Your clique is welcome to participate or boycott, it makes little difference either way.

It was just an observation and a suggestion in case you wanted to redo your project as you left off some actors that other people thought should be on there...and the idea of your thread was to get MoFo's input. Had it been just your own list of 90s actors, I wouldn't have suggested anything.

No worries, I've enjoyed your past threads and have participated where I can. Did you see where I said I made a typo in my first post? I typed 'my' which might sounded like I was boycotting, but I meant to type 'more' many more input from the MoFo community.

We have had time to name them and for them to have been included in the late entries. I've included all suggestions made except I think Steve Bucemi and a couple of asian actresses Mr Minio mentioned.

But who did I still miss out then, who are the greatest actors of the 1990s?

Obviously there are plenty of well known actors, but who's going to be like top 5, top 6, top 8 that I've not included?

Anyway, yeah maybe I over reacted.

We've got 10 taken part so far which is nice, but if you want to join too then the more the merrier.

I'd planned to do a semi-final and final, so might do that and if anyone wants to take part they can, if not we can just leave it.

How about if I do a thread titled Proposed Best 90s actor Semi Final and Final polls, and set out what I was intending to do, and then people can say there if they want to participate, or if there are alternative (or additional) proposals?

It's totally up to you. I could make a short list of who I think were the best actors/actresses in the 90s and post it in one of your threads.
