Never having heard of Greg Ginn i still agree with this hierarchy.

Carlos Santana > anybody > anybody > anybody > anybody > Ect... > Eric Clapton

The guitarist for Black Flag. Who is great.

But certainly no Carlos Santana.

I'm trying to think of a single great guitarist that I like less than Eric Clapton, even by just a little bit, and I'm drawing blanks.

And, I know I'm wrong. I know I'm wrong. And I'm sure one of these days a light will go on and I'll realize how dumb I've been.

But, until then, Eric Clapton is the most boring.

Lou Reed's double album "Metal Machine Music" was a very cruel practical joke.
Heh, even crueler than Lulu?

the best Yes album is either Talk or The Ladder

I was going to violently disagree, but then I couldn't remember the name of the album I like and think is so much better, so I should probably just drop it.

On Van Halen:

Sammy Hagar era is more interesting and the released memorable songs of this period are three times more than the earlier one.
Moreover, the albums OU812 (1988) and Balance (1995) are the only ones I would consider for Hard Rock genre All Time Top 100 LPs.

Nope, you aren't wrong. Most overrated musician of all time.

Guitars are awesome, though.

Music today has no genres.
Disagree, but there is a massive post-genre movement going on (which I happen to enjoy quite a bit) that is blending many genres together. On the other side of the coin, I would argue that genres have become far too granular these days, with various genres split down into dozens of sub-genres, some with very little distinction from the others.

I can't stand The Doors, Rage Against the Machine, Sublime, and The White Stripes.
